What happened to the previous Free Trial?

FreshBuzzer used to offer a free trial with no strings attached — no credit card, no verification. That was great in theory, but in practice it left the door wide open to abuse. The internet is full of bots and bad actors who can incur massive costs or degrade a service if left without protection. Unfortunately, the safest way forward was to remove the free trial completely.

What's Different This Time

Earlier this year FreshBuzzer got a new onboarding flow that helps users get started off on the right foot. As part of that flow, you already verify your phone number - to receive your buzzer calls. And that same phone number verification now also gates the free trial. No extra hoops, you're automatically good to go.

Other than that, nothing has changed. You still get a fully functional FreshBuzzer number, call forwarding, access codes — the whole thing — for 30 days, free. You can even add up to two buzzers during the trial, so you can properly explore the multi-property feature that's now available on all plans.

One Thing to Keep in Mind

When your trial ends, your FreshBuzzer phone number will be released unless you've started a paid subscription. That number is what your building's buzzer calls, so once it's gone, you'll need to get a new one and update your intercom settings. To keep everything working seamlessly, make sure to subscribe before your trial runs out.
